My elderly boss in Florida was trying to explain to me the new kind of car that her son had recently purchased, but it was a car she had never heard of before.

Can you guess what kind of car she was trying to describe?

He had bought a Scion tC as a midlife crisis car, and Scion wasn't a brand she had ever heard of before, nor did she know how to pronounce. Obviously.

Yeah, I bought a rwd sports car in Illinois as my only means of transportation. Some might see that as a very early midlife crisis (I'm 26), but I just say it's compromising to own the first of many cars on my dream car list. lol

I'm curious to know how old this guy actually is. If it truly is a midlife crisis, I'm guessing he bought a Scion because it's the most youthful brand he could think of. Makes you instantly look young and hip again... right?...

Nope, fr-s looks too fancy. It needs to look at least a little appliance-ish, or people won't respect you!

I feel like Scion has mostly missed the mark for the youth market. Most of their lineup seems to be less of what young people want, and more of what old people want to feel more youthful.

Where they hit the mark is that they made the cars that parents want to buy their kids. Slow econo-boxes that are what old people think will make young people happy because they are marketed as youthful rides with dubstep music and strobe lights. lol
